I’m feeling like the more productive I get, the busier I get? Or maybe I’ve just been putting off all of my responsibilities lately? Or maybe I’m just in hyperdrive-nesting mode trying to prepare for the arrival of our new baby. In any case, I’m just glad that it’s working. I’m getting lots of things done and feeling much more accomplished now that I have a better understanding of what makes me have a good day vs. what makes me have a bad day.
Sleep is definitely key to a good day. I’m not sure how it’s going to be once baby comes, but hopefully we’ll all be able to get back onto a normal-ish schedule after baby’s arrival. I think having Eleanor on a routine already will make structuring a routine for the new baby a little easier. Before Ellie, we would always eat at random times and didn’t have much of a schedule in our lives, but now our toddler lives by her schedule.
And although I have been doing my morning and before bed routines everyday, I find that I’m still having a hard time doing them because they are not second nature yet. It takes a lot of time to remember all of the things I need to do every morning and night, and I also have a hard time remembering to start my before bed routine ASAP. So I’ve been going to sleep later and later than I’d like to.
Ultimately, theres’s really something to having a shining sink at the end of each day. Not having to do dishes when I wake up is a real blessing. Even if I still have been too lazy to put the dishes away after they’re clean each night, at least I don’t need to do any washing when I wake up. It makes my morning so much smoother.
February 3, 2021 – Today I’m thankful for my teeth. Although they’re hurting me a little right now, I’m so grateful for dental hygiene. I can’t imagine what it was like before modern day tooth brushing and flossing. Maybe it’s because I love popcorn so much that I am always making sure that there aren’t any leftover kernels stuck in my teeth, but I can’t imagine trying to do that back in the 1800s or whenever. I love and appreciate having clean teeth.
