December Daily Gratitude #8:
Today I am very thankful for my job! I have been so blessed with such a wonderful job, working with my parents has been lots of fun and I have had so many mind blowing experiences throughout my career. And today they announced that we will begin flying to Orlando (HELLO DISNEYWORLD!) and Austin (HELLO COUSIN AIMEE!) in 2021. Basically those were my #1 and #2 destinations that were in my heart and I could only dream about us flying there one day. AND TODAY IT’S OFFICIAL. My heart is soaring and my brain is firing at a million miles an hour. I am so thankful and hopeful that this means my co-workers who have been furloughed will come back sooner than later.
Day #8 – Kitchen Cleanup Continues! – Part ?
I’m still going strong! Yesterday was insanely busier than I had expected, but I got a lot of things done. Today I was fortunate to have my mom and sister come over and entertain my toddler while the kitchen cleanup continued on.
I am getting rid of quite a few things, but most of what’s happening in these photos is just shifting items from one space to a more functional one. Living in our kitchen with a better storage and workflow has been so much better. It is so much easier to put things away when they have a home and things aren’t getting lost in the kitchen either. I wish I could just snap my fingers and make the whole house simplified already, but then again, going through this process is making me much more conscious of what is coming in and out of our house.
My next project in our kitchen is to organize our pantry. My mom keeps insisting we need a shelf to store all of the random snacks that somehow make their way into our house. But have you met my toddler? She’s a little fearless daredevil mountain climbing gremlin. I’ve found her on the kitchen island, dining table, top of the sofa, on the window ledge… the list goes on. So I’d really prefer to not have an extra open shelf with easily accessible sugar on it for Eleanor to explore. My solution (hopefully) is to make the new pantry area I cleared out a space for all of our snacks.
Can’t wait until tomorrow! I’m so excited to get the kitchen finished soon so that I can work on other areas of the house. After I see my clean and organized kitchen at the end of the day, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the house is going to feel like once I’m done decluttering.
