Doing December Daily #3

Update: Day #2 – Kitchen Cabinet Declutter – Part 1
I didn’t have much time last night and this morning to declutter because I spent most of the day preparing to, and running errands. I have only one cabinet to share today, but I’ll have more to share tomorrow. And I promise that I won’t only be doing one cabinet per day. (If I only did one cabinet per day, we might never get to declutter the rest of my house.. HA!)

December Daily Gratitude #3:
This morning my dad was awesome (as always) and helped me go to Sam’s Club and Walmart with Eleanor to pick up some groceries and items for my Christmas gifts. If you know my dad, he’s one of the greatest humans to ever walk this earth and I can only dream of being half as awesome as he is. I am so grateful for everything he has ever done for me and my family.

Day #3 – Kitchen Cabinet Declutter – Part 2:
Even though I know exactly what pots and pans I ACTUALLY use, why is it so difficult for me to decide what to keep and give away? Maybe I’m getting caught up in aesthetics or a memory of one fun time we used that pot (or something like that). I think it’s a little more difficult for our family to declutter our kitchen collection because we really love to cook and bake. I almost forgot that we even had a nabe pot, but it is something that we use, for a specific purpose, only sometimes. Ok, sorry for the rambling.

One thing that I have been taking the time to do while cleaning out my cabinets is wiping down my cabinet doors and shelves. It definitely is something I overlook in my day to day life. But after cleaning the shelves and doors, the cabinets look so much newer and it just feels so much better.

Sorry for the short update, I hope to have more progress to share tomorrow. I’m also hoping to give away all of my excess things within the Buy Nothing O‘ahu Facebook Group. If you haven’t heard of the BNO group, it’s just a group in which people in the community give and ask for items freely. Even though donating your unused items is great, it feels even better when you give them to someone in your community. There’s a lot of people going through hard times because of the pandemic, and lots of people who can’t even afford to buy things second hand. So I encourage others who are also decluttering to give within your community before donating if you can.
