December Daily Gratitude #21:
I am so thankful for sleep. You never really understand how little sleep you’ll be getting as a parent until you experience it yourself. I remember being able to function so well in high school and college running on a few hours of sleep. Even pulling all-nighters all the time was ok. And now every minute of sleep is pure magic.
I am so lucky that when my in-laws come to visit, I get to take some time for myself. And get a few more minutes of sleep. I think the hardest part is that I enjoy myself too much and I don’t work as hard to accomplish errands and things that need to get done around the house.
Day #21: Holiday Shopping
My MIL and I were lamenting on the fact that COVID-19 has made finding a good foundation/tinted moisturizer a huge pain in the butt. Online ordering & returning and not being able to actually see the colors in person is just such a waste of time and money. So we took a quick trip to Sephora this morning and finally got to color match ourselves to some foundation we liked. I’m still on the fence about what kind of foundation I want to use in the future, but I’m going to use up the products I have first before purchasing something.
We did a HUGE Costco haul today, lots of things we needed to buy in order to prepare for this week’s menu. I’ve been putting in a huge effort to plan our weekly meals so that I don’t need to go to Costco or Don Quijote more than once a week. I’m still improving and streamlining the process, but it has been saving me a lot of time and effort.
Since I’ve mostly just been visiting with family the past few days, I decided that I needed to do something productive. So I’m making our cash envelopes for our 2021 rent and Nate’s shop rent. We don’t really do all cash spending yet and we definitely don’t have our budget completely in order, but we’re slowly improving. I’ve got quite a bit more errands to run tomorrow, before I can relax a bit more.. honestly I’ve been acting more relaxed lately than I should be.
