December Daily Gratitude #17:
Today is my grandmother’s birthday, so I am thankful for her. When I was in elementary school, I often would sleep over my grandparent’s house while my mom was working and flying. So at least once, sometimes twice a week, I would spend a lot of time with my grandmother.
I got my love of sewing and crafting from both of my grandmothers. Both grandma’s are very crafty and run their own small businesses. I grew up sitting next to sewing machines and crochet needles and all kinds of projects. Although I don’t have as much free time to do all the crafts I’d like, I hope to share some of those crafting skills with my daughter when she gets older.
Day #17: Cooking Chashu
I can’t remember the reason we decided to learn how to make ramen, but it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! It is a lot of prep work and it takes a while to make, but it’s totally worth the wait.
I also let Ellie help me cook hamburger helper tonight. It’s not the healthiest thing to eat, but the easiest thing I could manage that she could actually help with. She was so upset that she couldn’t help us with the Chashu today, so I thought it would be a fun activity for her to help make dinner. My goal is to have her cooking us dinner by the time she’s 2.
