Update: Day #1 – Tidying the Kitchen
Here’s my clean kitchen!! It feels soooo much better to have a clean kitchen and I can finally breathe a little. I actually have a clean workspace now. I even washed all the dishes I had made after making Portuguese Bean Soup last night! Feeling all kinds of positive vibes and endorphins now!
December Daily Gratitude #2:
Today I am grateful for my daughter, Eleanor. Especially for waking up at 2am this morning and keeping me awake until 4am. But in all seriousness, after seeing the world through the eyes of my growing child, I have learned to step back and appreciate everything I’ve been blessed with in my life. Every time Ellie turns on the Christmas lights… WOW! Every time she eats something delicious for the first time… MMM! And any time something exciting happens to her, the first person she wants to share her excitement with is… MOM!!! I am so thankful to be her mommy.
Not going to lie, for a while I almost thought that yesterday was actually December 2nd. I think it was just a very long day? Or 2020 just has my internal clock all over the place. I’m sure this year has everyone messed up. BUT.. we’re all just doing the best we can.
Day #2 – Kitchen Cabinet Declutter – Part 1:
I’ve been trying to figure out what is the best way to reorganize my cabinets. There’s A LOT of things that don’t need to be in my cabinets anymore, but in addition to that, they’re just not as functional as I would like them to be. So far I’ve taken photos of my cluttered cabinets, and roughly planned out where items will go. I think that this kitchen declutter will need to take place over a few days, but that’s totally ok. With my kitchen in a much better state than before, I feel much more motivated and I actually have a clean area to declutter and work in.
Now that I can see all my cabinets in one photo gallery, all I can think is… GOODNESS THERE’S TOO MANY THINGS IN THERE!!! I think I’m going to need to stalk The Home Edit’s instagram and maybe re-read Marie Kondo’s The Art of Tidying.
Before I finish this post, I just wanted to thank everyone who has been encouraging me through this process. All of your calls, texts and social media messages really help me to keep going. Mahalo everyone!
